This chess board features a glossy Black finish with Sycamore white squares in a very clean design. It has a good sized border and a sycamore pinstripe to emphasize the playing surface. Glossy black is popular and pairs well with woods such as Ebonized, Ebony, and Cardinal and Crimson Rosewoods found in many Staunton chess pieces. Matches well with many theme chess pieces, painted and not. Glossy boards are generally better used as a display piece because scratches are much more likely to show up on high gloss boards.

This board has 2″ squares and is well suited to any chessmen ranging from 3 1/2″ to 3 3/4″ tall.
